Sixty40

Who we are:

Sixty40 is Sydney based design and animation company powered by a team of dedicated ninjas. We’ve been producing unique and wonderful pieces for a huge range of clients and purposes for 10 years now. Every job we do refines our skills in 2D, 3D and stop motion animation, shooting live action, making puppets, designing characters, producing motion graphics and compositing it all together.

All these skills are focused on making work for a mix of TVCs, digital content, station IDs, TV titles, music videos, kid’s programs, viral content and anything new technology wants to throw at us.

What’s in a name:

The name  “Sixty40” comes from an ideal world where 60% of our time and resources would go into commissioned work and 40% into independent projects. The actual balance is always changing, but the name confirms the underlying strategy:

By creating commercial work in parallel with independent projects, we keep pushing ourselves both creatively and professionally and both types of work benefit. By experimenting with new animation techniques, story ideas, installations, video artworks, graphic novels…we get better at every aspect of our commercial work from script writing to compositing.

Let the Sixty fund the 40, let the 40 inspire the Sixty and Let them both be great.

Also “Sixty40” is a pretty catchy name.

Recent Awards

Here’s what we’ve raked in recently : In 2010 a  Gold International Promax and   3  Silver International Promax (x3) and in 2009 a  D&AD Yellow Pencil and a 2009 Silver and Bronze Cannes Lion.

Our Clients

We make commercials and content for agencies such as Mark Digital,  M&C Saatchi, Ogilvy, Droga5, Weiden + Kennedy Shanghai, CHE and Lavender. We do broadcast design and content for TV networks such as TV1, SBS, Foxtel, Comedy Channel, ABC , Seven Network, Disney Australia and Channel V. Titles and idents for production companies like Beyond Productions, Fremantle Media and Shine Australia as well as music types EMI,  Sony Music Australia and Warp.
