On the back of the awesome kids music clip “Bounce” we made for Sony Music Australia in 2009, McDonalds released a CD ROM of band clips and tunes as a Happy Meal collectors’ item. The CD ROMs, featuring tunes and music clips from each of  the characters from the band could be collected over four weeks with every Happy Meal sold.  If that wasn’t enough for us to get excited about, it was also McDonalds’ first happy meal to feature a series of  CD roms.

In addition to character design, we created the concept and scripts, with the ability  to keep growing the world and brand as required.

The end product was Wootonia – a planet made entirely from rubber trees, inhabited by ‘Woots’, Vim (vocals and keyboards), Rok (guitar), Boom (brings the beats) and Zak (drums) who have gravity defying manoeuvres designed to wow kids with their fresh and fun outlook on music and performing.

In the same tradition as the highly popular animated bands of the 60s and 70s such as ‘The Archies’  and ‘Josie and the Pussycats’, we came up with a modern interpretation appealing specifically to juniors.
